Services for Educational Settings
An Inclusive society begins in childhood, where opportunities and experiences shape thoughts, feelings, beliefs and values. Schools can create environments which highlight differences or offer inclusive options. The Government expects schools to provide quality education for all. The number of children with additional and often complex needs is increasing yearly, placing greater pressures on schools to adapt environments and curriculum, develop their SEND Universal Provision and innovate learning delivery, to ensure that each child thrives, reaches his/her potential and achieves successful outcomes.
Children thrive where they feel safe, valued and understood. Children with SEND need proactive planning in order to thrive.
The current SEND system is recognised as not working for all and is unsustainable long term. While we await the proposed reforms, our focus is on improving outcomes and this involves utilising the expertise of National Leaders of Education. Designated as a Specialist Leader of Education in 2014, I have held an advisory role since then.
